The Boca Raton Public Library subscribes to many reliable resources to help you with school assignments. All of these resources can be used while in the library, or accessed from home with an internet connection and your BRPL card. Driving Tests


Driving-Tests.org: Contains everything you need to prepare for the Florida Driver License Exam, and in multiple languages. Included are practice tests and driver’s manuals for car, motorcycle, and CDL. Accessibility features are included for vision problems and dyslexia.

Grolier Online

Grolier Online is a wide-ranging collection of encyclopedias and tools for learners of all ages, including:
  • America the Beautiful (grades 1-8): State-by-state history and current events.
  • Encyclopedia Americana (grades 9-12): Content is international in scope, and known for its detailed coverage of American and Canadian geography and history. Americana is also strong in biography and scientific and technical subjects. Features include: 40,000 in-depth encyclopedia articles, American Journal (20,000 current and historical events), dictionary and thesaurus.
  • Grolier Multimedia Encyclopedia (grades 6-12): A general reference database rich in multimedia content suited to users from the upper elementary grades through adults. Features include: 37,000 quick reference articles, interactive atlas, 11 detailed timelines, dictionary, thesaurus, Brain Jam (research starters, quizzes, Today in History).
  • Lands and Peoples (grades 6-12): An interactive site built around Grolier's six-volume encyclopedia of countries, cultures and geography. Features include: Global News Desk, Focus: North America (articles on every U.S. state and Canadian Province), Encyclopedia (articles on every continent and country worldwide), Interactive atlas and electronic almanac, Passport to Fun (games, puzzles, quizzes, etc.).
  • New Book of Knowledge (grades 1-8): Features include: easy-reference encyclopedia articles (Facts at a glance, photos, maps, Projects and Experiments), NBK News™ with NewScoops (current events, fast facts, wild wonders, history mystery, holiday crafts and games, etc.), dictionary and thesaurus.
  • New Book of Popular Science (grades 6-12): 400+ articles on science, technology and medical topics are highly interactive and continually updated. Features include: NewsBytes (Top News stories every week, archives, etc.), SciClopedia, SciFiles (Fact Finder, scientific and mathematical conversions and formulas, etc.), SkyWatch, SciZone (math brain, photo bizarre, mind benders, etc.), Ask Pop Sci (submit questions, explore others' Q & A).
  • La Nueva Enciclopedia Cumbre:
    • (grades 1-12): A Spanish-language encyclopedia built from the ground up with a Latin American perspective. Features include: 15,000 articles, all in Spanish (maps, flags, photos, facts, article links, etc.), Spanish/English and English/Spanish dictionary.
