Pavement Resurfacing

M&M will be working on SW 18th Street from Dixie Highway to Federal Highway (milling and resurfacing). Project takes places from Wednesday, November 13 to Friday, November 15, 2019. 

  • Approved lane closures will not be permitted between the hours of 9am - 4pm, Monday - Friday
  • The scheduled work can be affected by weather

Spanish River Boulevard Bridge Painting

Starting August 12, 2019 with an estimated completion date in early 2020, the Spanish River Blvd Bridge over the Intracoastal will experience lane closures. Scope of work includes sandblasting the existing paint and repainting the steel bridge structure, repairing and rehabilitating the bridge span locks, and replacing the bridge piling jackets. Single lane closures are permitted daily as follows:

  • Lane closures may occur daily and nightly, Monday through Sunday, with the following exceptions:
    • Westbound lane closures are not permitted 7am - 9am
    • Eastbound lane closures are not permitted 2:30pm - 7pm

The plans also allow for four (4) weekends of full closures so the bridge may be locked in the upright position. The dates for these closures are not confirmed at this time.

Advanced Notice - Nighttime Full Closures for November:

Nighttime full closures, Friday night, November 22, and Saturday night, November 23, 9 p.m. until 7 am, eastbound lanes only: The Spanish River Boulevard Bridge will undergo two (2) nights of full closures in the eastbound direction, 9 p.m. until 7 a.m., Friday night, Nov. 22, and Saturday night, Nov. 23, to conduct lock repair and maintenance work. During this time, the westbound lanes will remain open for westbound motorists, pedestrians, and first responders. Motorists may detour northbound to Linton Boulevard, or southbound to Palmetto Park Road. Should inclement weather affect operations, the closure will be rescheduled for a future weekend until completed. Road Work

The frontage road on the west side of the Spanish River Boulevard Bridge is currently closed directly under the bridge and along the north side of Spanish River Boulevard until further notice.

  • The frontage road along the southwest side of Spanish River Boulevard is open to allow for access to the condominiums, but closed directly at the bridge.
  • The frontage road along the northwest side of Spanish River Boulevard is closed completely from the westbound access point from Spanish River Boulevard to the bridge. Westbound motorists can U-turn at US 1 to head eastbound to access the frontage road on the south side of Spanish River Boulevard.

The frontage road repairs will be managed locally out of the Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT) District Four Maintenance Office.

FPL Pole Replacement Project

Sidewalk Closures

FPL will be installing conduit/cable and terminating the cable on a concrete pole. FPL Contractor (DBE Utility Management) will commence this project on 10/28/19 through 11/01/19. FYI – there will be no lane closures, only sidewalk closures.

MOT Permit schedule:

  1. Sidewalk to be closed on Northside of Palmetto Park Rd, from Crawford Blvd going West to NW 3rd Court = 10/28 to 11/1
  • Daytime operation 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Pedestrian detours will be coordinated with by the MOT employees on site
  • Control Devices may need to be adjusted to fit field conditions
  • The scheduled work can be affected by weather

NE 7th Ave between Jeffery St and Coventry St

FPL will be installing concrete poles and transferring all FPL facilities. FPL Contractor (Irby Construction) will commence this project on 10/14/19 through 11/07/19.

MOT Permit schedule:

  1. Jeffery St at NE 7th Ave (1 concrete pole to be set) = 10/14 to 10/15
  2. NE 7th Ave between Jeffery St and Glouchester St (3 concrete poles to be set) = 10/16 to 10/18

  4. NE 7th Ave between Glouchester St and Forsyth St (2 concrete poles to be set) = 10/24 to 10/28

FPL will be installing directional bores and pulling cables. FPL Contractor will commence this project on 10/07/19 through 11/08/19.

  2. FAU Blvd and Spanish River Trail (Cable Pulling) = 10/28/19 to 11/1/19
  3. FAU Blvd and Spanish River Trail (Energizing Cable = 11/4/19 to 11/8/19

Camino Gardens

FPL will be replacing poles from wood to concrete and topping poles. FPL Contractor  will commence this project on 10/28/19 through 11/22/19.

I-95 EXPRESS LANES - FDOT PROJECT from SW 10th Street to south of Glades Rd.

I-95 Traffic Impacts

I-95 will have three lanes closed in each direction nightly, as needed, Sunday through Thursday, between SW 10th Street and Glades Road, with the first lane closing at 9:30pm, the second lane closing at 10:30pm, and the third lane closing at 11:30pm until 5:30am.

I-95 Northbound Full Closure Notice: I-95 northbound lanes at Hillsboro Boulevard will be closed to traffic overnight, 11:30 p.m. until 5 a.m., Tuesday, October 29 through Thursday, October 31 to shift traffic to the newly constructed northbound segment and bridge over Hillsboro Canal. Traffic will be detoured via the northbound exit ramp to Hillsboro Boulevard west, Military Trail and Palmetto Park Road. FHP will be on site to assist motorists. Please see detour flyer attached.

Palmetto Park Road Traffic Impact

 As part of the I-95 Express Phase 3B-1:

  • Palmetto Park Road at I-95 will have two lanes closed in each direction nightly, as needed, Sunday through Thursday. The first lane will close at 9 p.m., and the second lane will close at 10:30 p.m. All lanes will be opened by 5:30 a.m.
  • Palmetto Park Road at I-95 will have one lane closed in each direction daily, as needed, 9:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • Full closure notice: Palmetto Park Road at I-95 will undergo a complete closure for new bridge construction, 11 p.m. until 5 a.m., Tuesday night, November 12 and Thursday night, November 14. Eastbound traffic will be detoured via I-95 and Hillsboro Boulevard and westbound traffic will be detoured via I-95 and Glades Road. FHP will be on site to assist motorists.

Camino Real Traffic Impacts

  • Camino Real at I-95 will have one lane closed in each direction daily, as needed, 9:30 a.m. until 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Ramp Impacts

  • The I-95 northbound exit ramp to Palmetto Park Road will be closed nightly, 11 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Motorists will be detoured via I-95 northbound, Hillsboro Boulevard, and Military Trail. FHP will be on site to assist motorists.
  • The I-95 southbound entrance ramp from westbound Palmetto Park Road will be closed nightly, 11 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Motorists will be detoured via Military Trail and Hillsboro Boulevard. FHP will be on site to assist motorists.
  • The I-95 southbound entrance ramp from eastbound Palmetto Park Road will be closed nightly, 11 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Motorists will be detoured via Military Trail and Hillsboro Boulevard. FHP will be on site to assist motorists.
  • The northbound entrance ramp from eastbound and westbound Palmetto Park Road will be closed nightly, 11 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Traffic will be detoured via I-95 southbound to Hillsboro Boulevard to I-95 northbound.
