Community Engagement Unit (CEU)

The Community Engagement Unit (CEU) is comprised of the following four specialties:

Homeless Liaison Boca Raton Police Community Engagement Unit

Homeless Liaison Officer

Our Homeless Liaison Officer works directly with individuals suffering from homelessness and assists with housing, referrals and other services to improve their quality of life. The officer also addresses issues of public concern pertaining to homelessness within the City of Boca Raton.

College Liaison Boca Raton Police Community Engagement Unit

College Liaison Officer

Our College Liaison Officer works closely with the four local colleges to address concerns and general safety issues. The officer engages in campus activities to foster positive relationships and maintain open communication with security personnel, faculty, students and on-campus law enforcement agencies.

Crime Prevention Boca Raton Police Community Engagement Unit

Crime Prevention Officer

Our Crime Prevention Officers build partnerships with community members to promote the concept that we can all have a role in crime prevention. The officers provide safety presentations, conduct security surveys and maintain the department’s crime prevention programs.

Community Engagement Officer

Our Community Engagement Officers work in assigned neighborhoods to address resident concerns and quality of life issues. The officers foster a sense of security and well-being by engaging in neighborhood activities, events and meetings.

The Boca Raton Police Department partners with local businesses to provide an opportunity for the public and police officers to engage in casual conversations over complimentary coffee.

Cool It with a Cop Boca Raton Police

Cool It With a Cop

The Boca Raton Police Department partners with local grade schools and camps to provide an opportunity for students and police officers to engage in casual conversations while enjoying a cool treat.

Residential and Commercial Security Surveys

The Boca Raton Police Department’s Crime Prevention Officers are certified Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) practitioners. The officers assess properties and make recommendations to reduce crime by creating defensible spaces.

Active Shooter Presentations

The Boca Raton Police Department provides presentations to community groups to encourage proactive thinking and awareness about events that could unfold in an active shooter situation.

Trespass Program

The Trespass Program allows property owners to sign an affidavit giving authority to all Boca Raton Police officers to demand that unauthorized persons leave the property in question or be subject to arrest under Florida State Statute 810.08 and 810.09.
