Summer Reading 2022

Summer Reading 2022 Oceans of Possibilities Logo

This year's Summer Reading theme is "Oceans of Possibilities"! Thanks to generous support from Friends of the Boca Raton Public Library, we have plenty of opportunities for you to dive into reading and enter to win great prizes.

Babies - Grade 5: Children will receive a free reading log when they sign up. They can also log their minutes through the READsquared app or online program. Visit either library each week to show us how much you've read and pick up a prize!

Grades 6-12: Tweens and teens can log the minutes they read on READsquared for the chance to win a Nintendo Switch Lite at the end of summer!

Adults are eligible for an end-of-summer drawing for book lovers’ gift sets when they log the books they read on READsquared.

Everyone who signs up for Summer Reading on READsquared receives an “Ocean of Possibilities” tote (while supplies last)!

Summer Reading starts on May 31 and ends on July 31.

Summer Reading Kickoff Party

Bring the whole family to help us launch our Summer Reading program, Oceans of Possibilities, at our Kickoff Party on Saturday, June 4, from 9:00am to noon! Enjoy a DJ, games, airbrush tattoos, snow-cones, and much more outdoors at the Spanish River Library. Sign up for our Summer Reading program, too. Free event. Rain or shine. Children 8 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.

Teen Summer Service Program

Teens can earn community service hours this summer by assisting patrons in signing up for Summer Reading, handing out prizes, and more. Access a City of Boca Raton Volunteer Application on the City website here or pick one up at the Youth Services desk at either library.

Summer Reading Lists from Local Schools

Many schools are recommending that students read at least 20 minutes per day of anything they like, but the following schools have provided book lists or other resources. Email us at with a link to your school's reading list, and we'll add it.
