Movies presentation for parents at our red carpet, popcorn film festival on Friday, June 2 and archived on our digital theater. Promotes literacy, technological skills, and creativity. LOL Film Making: Music Video Production

Info: Rock-and-Roll all night and every day at our Music Video Production camp. Mentored by master filmmakers, campers will engage in hands on exploration of the music video production process, including pre-production, production and post-production. Working collaboratively in small crews, they will learn about cinematography specific to music videos and advanced editing techniques. Using an existing pop culture song, campers will listen to the lyrics, learn them and create a story, encapsulating the theme of the lyrics. They will then act in and edit their full music video. Each film crew will use a Mac Book, Final Cut Pro, an HD camera, tripod, and green screen under the guidance of their own filmmaker. Family and friends will join us at the Film Camp in a Box Red Carpet Film Festival on Friday, June 30 to enjoy the blockbusters and, of course some popcorn. Future Veterinarians

Info: This is THE camp for kids who want to become Veterinarians, or who just love animals! Campers will ‘adopt’ a plush animal to perform mock exams, surgeries, and other procedures. Topics include the vet’s office, pharmacy and lab, basic animal anatomy and physiology, pet care and nutrition, diagnosing common illness and injuries, treatment plans, solving ‘medical mysteries’, and getting into vet school. Info: Gumbo Limbo Nature Center offers week-long day camps during the summer for nature lovers entering grades 1 through 9. Children experience our coastal ecosystems firsthand through canoeing, fishing, water games, beach fun, indoor and outdoor activities, dip netting in the intracoastal, sea turtle conservation and hikes through the woods. Teens also enjoy a snorkeling field trip to Peanut Island!

Info: Science Camp offers your child an exciting and fun opportunity to explore the world around us. Campers entering 1st through 5th grade will experience a different science theme, consisting of three activities, each day. We will engage in tons of exciting experiments that will be sure to entice the curious mind of your budding scientist.
*Water, Water Everywhere is the theme for rising kindergarteners. They will discover the wonders of water in our bodies, in the ground, in the air and more, as they are introduced to science as a fun and exciting method of discovery. Our program focuses on learning basics and classroom skills to help prepare your child for the year ahead.
All camps are hands-on and emphasize active learning and fun. Science Camp is comprised of eight, one-week sessions, running from June 12 to August 4. Due to the popularity of the program and limited number of spaces, each child will only be permitted to attend one session of camp per summer.
After you register, mark your calendar for Science Camp Open House on June 10. At open house, your campers will pick up their camp uniform and meet their camp counselors. This also gives you an opportunity to learn about the camp program, ask questions and make sure that your camper is ready to go on their first day. Open House is not required, but highly recommended.
