Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)

CERT What is C.E.R.T you ask? It stands for Community Emergency Response Team. We aim to teach our community to be prepared in case of natural or man-made disasters. As Floridians, we know, hurricanes are bound to happen. This FEMA-based course will teach you how to help yourselves and help your neighbors in case of a large-scale disaster. In these types of events, Police, Fire or EMS might not be able to respond to your home or community for 24-72 hours. We will teach you fire suppression skills, building search and rescue, first aid, victim triage, and more.

The course is 8 weeks long. One 3-hour class per week and one last scenario to finish up the program. We ask that students are city residents and are aged 16 and older.

Come be a part of our Fire Department family! Looking forward to seeing you all in February 2024.
