Lifeguarding

The course includes American Red Cross certifications in:

  • Lifeguarding / First Aid / CPR / AED  

You will also receive an American Red Cross Lifeguarding Manual, pocket mask, and certification upon completion of the course.


All dates and times are final and must be completed in order to receive certification for Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid. Failure to attend each date is subject to failure of this course.

This is a Blended Learning course meaning the class will be both online and in-person. You must complete both the online and in-person portions of the course in order to receive certification for Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid. 

Benefits of Certification

These certifications provide participants the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies and provide care for breathing emergencies, cardiac emergencies, bodily injuries, and sudden illnesses until EMS personnel take over.
The blended learning class allows participants to become familiar with the course work prior to the start of class, so at the are better prepared or the skills. The online portion of the blended learning is approximately 7 hours long.

Prerequisites 

At least 15 years old, swim 300 yards continuously, tread water for 2 minutes using only legs, complete a timed event with a 10 lb diving brick.

Class size: 6 - 10 (Must have a minimum of 6 students to conduct the course)

Cost:

  • Residents: $250
  • Non - Residents: $312

Register in person or by phone.  The course will be cancelled and refunds given if minimum enrollment is not met. 

Once registration is complete, the instructor will email instructions for completing the online portion of the course.

Be prepared to swim at every session. Wet suits, rash guards, goggles, and dry clothing are highly recommended.

Bring your book and pocket mask to each class. Wear comfortable clothing. Class involves kneeling and lying on the floor.
