History

Did you know that the earliest known inhabitants of the Boca Raton area were the Tequesta Indians? Did you also know that the City is the home of the first personalized computer? And that the Army Air Corps established its only war-time radar training school at the site of what is today FAU and the Boca Raton Airport?

With so much to explore, we invite our residents to take a deep dive into our history to understand how the beautiful City of Boca Raton became what it is today.

Visit the Boca Raton Historical Society & Museum to learn more or stop by to visit them in person and see their newest exhibits (71 North Federal Highway, Boca Raton, Florida 33432).

The History Museum is currently closed for building renovations and installation of new history exhibits: HistoryAlive!
