Residents
City of Boca Raton residents who wish to APPLY for or RENEW a free Library Card (termed a library borrower's permit in the City Code of Ordinances) must provide photo identification (valid driver's license, a current state identification card or a current passport) and ONE of the following items showing their name and their City of Boca Raton address as proof of residency in physical or digital form:
- Property Appraiser Website (for owner)
- Mortgage Statement (current)
- Copy of Deed to Property
- Signed Copy of Lease
- Recorded Declaration of Domicile
- Letter from Director of Campus Housing
- Cable Bill (within last 2 months)
- Power Bill (within last 2 months)
- Water Bill (within last 2 months)
- Voter Registration
- Vehicle Registration
- Property Tax Bill or Receipt (current)
Children/dependents must be accompanied by their parent or guardian, who must show their photo ID and proof of residency on behalf of the child/dependent.

Nonresidents
If you reside outside the City of Boca Raton, you may purchase an individual card for a non-refundable $152 annual fee, or a family card (immediate family only) for a non-refundable $253 annual fee.
