In partnership with the Florida Section of the American Water Works Association (FSAWWA), the City participated in the annual Drop Savers Contest. The poster contest received entries from Boca Raton schools, both public and private, grades K-5. Each participant had to submit their poster entry on letter-sized paper. The poster had to include a slogan, drawing, or combination of the two with a water conservation theme.
The posters were judged on their water conservation message, creativity, and originality, not just artistic ability. The winners of the contest are:
Division 1 - Naomi Hayes, St. Joan of Arc, 1st grade
Division 2 - Izabell Zamorano, Verde K-8, 3rd grade
Division 3 - Christine Merritt, St. Joan of Arc, 5th grade
Winners and their families were invited take pictures with Deputy Mayor Monica Mayotte and describe their posters (see pictures and the posters created below). The three winners are also entered in the statewide poster competition.
