With the recent certification of the Special Election by the Supervisor of Elections on September 7, Mayor Scott Singer and newly-elected Council Member, Andy Thomson, took the oath of office at the September 12 Organizational Meeting. Organizational proceedings at the meeting also included the selection of Deputy Mayor, Council Member Jeremy Rodgers. The council also selected Council Member Andy Thomson as the Alternate to the Transportation Planning Agency.
Commissioner Steven Abrams joined the City Clerk, Susan Saxton, to swear in Mayor Scott Singer, and Council Member Andy Thomson was sworn in by Pastor Tommy Kiedis from Spanish River Church. The Organizational Meeting was followed by the C.R.A Regular Meeting, Special Meeting for the Downtown Special Assessment, the City Council Workshop and City Council Regular Meeting. The next meeting of the Boca Raton City Council is scheduled for Thursday, September 13, at 6 pm for the Tentative Budget Hearing.
