Each year our community works together to prepare for the uncertainty of hurricane season. We review plans and stock up on supplies; we know the drill. This year, however, will require some additional preparation due to COVID-19.
We want you to know that we appreciate your efforts to stay safe and positive over the past few months during this COVID-19 crisis. The new challenges from this virus make it more important than ever to prepare for Hurricane Season. This pandemic does make our response more challenging, but City and County emergency planners have been hard at work.
The Atlantic Hurricane Season starts June 1 until November 30. As residents of South Florida and Boca Raton, it is important to be informed and prepared for potential hurricanes. The City of Boca Raton strongly encourages all residents and businesses to make and follow a hurricane plan at the beginning of hurricane season. The City recently sent out a special hurricane email message to all contacts registered for the City Connection newsletter which provides important information and resources on how to prepare now.
The City of Boca Raton is committed to helping city residents to prepare and stay connected before, during and after a storm and offers numerous emergency services and resources to ensure the safety and protection of the community.
