2022 Veterans Day

CITY OF BOCA RATON RECOGNIZES VETERANS WITH EVENTS ON FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 11 FROM 11 A.M. TO 2 P.M.

Highlights Include Ceremony, Free Lunch for Veterans, Concert and Veteran Resource Fair

BOCA RATON, FLORIDA (September 2, 2022) – In commemoration of Veterans Day and in recognition of all military personnel who have served this country, the City of Boca Raton will host a FREE Veterans Day Observance open to the public on Friday, November 11 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Mizner Park Amphitheater, 590 Plaza Real. 

The official ceremony, set for 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., will include a processional performed by the Lauderdale Highlanders, Boca Raton Community High School Commanding Officer and Color Guard and the Police and Fire Honor Guards. Additionally, music will be provided by the Coastmen Chorus.  The City of Boca Raton will be recognized as a Purple Heart City, with a proclamation from Mayor Scott Singer and a plaque presented to the city.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., a Veteran Resource Fair will feature organizations such as American Legion, Honor Flights and Grey Team, providing veterans and their families with information to both assist with and alleviate common challenges often encountered after military service.  In addition, a table will be set up for Letters to Soldiers.

Lunch will be available from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. for $5, and free for veterans in uniform or presenting a military ID. During lunch the American Bombshells entertain the crowd with their modern-day twist on the Andrew Sisters. This All-American show dazzles in three-part harmony. Afterward they will charm the crowd with a meet & greet. 

King Guys, billed as “The World’s Smallest Big Band,” will perform a lively concert of time-honored favorites and patriotic music from 1 p.m. to 2 p,m. During the event guest will be treated to an airplane flyover banner thanking our Veterans.

Seating and chairs will be available for attendees at no charge.  There is limited, free parking for Veterans in the east lot adjacent to the Amphitheater.   No coolers or outside alcoholic beverages permitted. The event is rain or shine.
