Conversations in Color uses storytelling and poetry as a creative lens to explore the American Civil Rights Movement through the lives and experiences of the activists, artists, entertainers, athletes and everyday people who fought to reshape American society -- as well as our history.
Dr. Marquese McFerguson is an Assistant Professor of Intercultural Communication at Florida Atlantic University. His groundbreaking research and teaching are centered on building bridges of understanding across cultures by examining how racial identities are produced and portrayed by media makers and interpreted and performed by audiences. He is also an award-winning slam poet and teaching artist who has performed to great acclaim throughout the U.S. and United Kingdom.
