  1. A World of Our Own: Boca Raton High School Student Photography Exhibit

    The Boca Raton Public Library is pleased to announce a new photographic exhibit, “A World of Our Own: Boca Raton Community High School Student Photography.” Visitors to the Art in Public Places area of the Downtown Library will be able to view a variety of photographs taken by the students in Boca High’s esteemed photography program. This is the fifth year the library has showcased the work of our local photography students. The exhibit will run from May 7–June 30 at the Downtown Library, 400 NW 2nd Avenue, during regular library hours.

  2. Discover Opera -- Origins of Opera: A New Art Based on a Mistake

    June 17, 2018, 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM @ Downtown Library

    Dr. Kenneth Keaton will lead these monthly lectures on the history of opera. He teaches music history, classical guitar, and chamber music, and is the director of the undergraduate honors program for the Department of Music at Florida Atlantic University. He has been an active performer for many years, with a particular interest in chamber music and works for voice and guitar. He has presented concerts throughout southern Florida, the eastern United States, and in Europe. This month's lecture will encompass the origins of opera with a focus on Monteverdi's "The Coronation of Poppea."
