Its mission is to promote higher standards of landscape design, encourage an increase in the City’s tree canopy, and educate residents in the proper selection, pruning and care of trees.     The Art in Public Places Advisory Board reviews and recommends to the City Council policies, programs and actions regarding art in the public realm. The Board is comprised of seven (7) members who are residents of the City with knowledge, experience or an interest in art.

    Kim Heise's beautiful watercolors contribute to the representation of native Florida species and their relationships to other plants and animals in the hope that they might be better protected. Heise notes, "Knowing the names, habits and relationships between the plants and animals around us is a type of literacy that roots us to the places we live."
