    The Community Appearance Board reviews plans of exterior alterations of buildings, other than single-family homes, to ensure conformity with established standards. Signs, billboards and landscaping come under close scrutiny by this Board to ensure the aesthetical quality of the City.

  1. Eco-Watch Lecture Series - Whitney Crowder

    The Eco-Watch Lecture Series is celebrating 35 years of Gumbo Limbo! Learn about the past, present, and future of science and conservation. Attend one or all of the presentations by a guest scientist, author, researcher, or other expert. February 25's speaker is Whitney Crowder, Sea Turtle Rehabilitation Coordinator, Gumbo Limbo Nature Center. Whitney has been the Sea Turtle Rehabilitation Coordinator for Gumbo Limbo Nature Center since 2015 and has been working in the conservation field for almost 20 years. She will share the history of Gumbo Limbo’s Sea Turtle Rehabilitation and our plans for an amazing future. Hosted by the beautiful Boca Raton Spanish River Library. Meet on the mezzanine of the library located at 1501 NW Spanish River Boulevard. Reservations can be made online or by calling 561-544-8615. Recommended for ages 14 & up; children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

    Socrates Cafe gatherings are held around the world, where people from different backgrounds get together and exchange thoughtful ideas and experiences. Persons attending gatherings engage in a common quest for a better understanding of human nature, and in the process strive for a more inclusive world. Socrates Cafe gatherings are free and open to any member of the public who wishes to freely discuss a question which is chosen by vote.
