Victim Advocate Ashley Derstine began her career with the Boca Raton Police Services Department in 2015. Prior to this employment, Ashley worked at the 17th Judicial Circuit with the State Attorney’s Office, as a victim advocate for 9 years.
Ashley received a Bachelor of Science degree in Rehabilitative Sciences from Clarion University of Pennsylvania. She was the recipient of the Boca Raton Police Civilian of the Month in 2015 and 2020.
Ashley can assist with crime victim support and facilitation of community services on behalf of the victim. She can help with court accompaniment and the restraining order process. Additionally, assistance can be provided with explanation of victim rights, safety planning, assistance with Victim Crime Compensation and the Address Confidentiality Program.
